We believe that consultation is important because - as with all people - disabled people have differing views and opinions on all subjects. Therefore by ensuring that a broad range of opinion is sourced on a
ny given topic, those people truly affected by any decision get to have an input.
We are regularly asked to carry out consultation projects. In June 2004 we formed a user panel of the 'Care and Support at Home Service'. Who, along with Social Services representatives, came together to interview the prospective providers of the service, in order to award new contracts to the providers with effect from September 2004.
We have also been involved with consultation supported housing projects, highway design, access auditing and sensory loss.
