Representation

 

With the high majority of our members being disabled people or caring for a disabled person then we believe we have the experience within the organisation to ensure that disability is on the agenda. We sit on many panels and groups to ensure that the needs and wants of disabled people are taken into consideration.

We currently have SAIN representatives on the following boards, panels and groups.

We welcome any members who would like to become a representative. Representatives will need to have a full understanding of the different types of diability, they would ideally have experience of attending meetings or being a committee member, although not necessarily related to disability. And most importantly they must have a passion for ensuring that, not only their own, but all disabilities are understood in order to secure equal access and inclusion in any facility or service within Somerset. We offer full training and an ongoing support programme.
